Deep into the empty desert of Mexicos Baja Peninsula, the three are now in pursuit of a storm swell and predictions of surf. As the head towards whats to be an iconic moment in the trip the stop off in Tortuga Bay and have a peculiar discovery of fossilized sharks teeth deep in the heart of this cake yellow desert. Charging south on the heals of incoming surf they land in the midst of reach surf culture and smack in the middle of society. Welcome to the 15th edition of the Transat Jacques Vabre! Injecting a fresh change, sailors will be bound for Martinique as they explore for the first time the West Indies. The four participating classes have taken different routes: while the Class 40 sailed starboard in Cape Verde, the Imocas and Ocean Fifty's starboarded in Fernando de Noronha and the Ultimes in Trinidade and Martim Vaz. This edition has proven to be tougher than usual, and with several accidents taking place during the competition not all parting boats have made it to the Caribbean island. We start our journey in Great Britain at the venue that held the sailing disciplines at the 2012 Olympic Games: the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Here, some of the best sailors in the world have gathered for the Volvo 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships.Staying with the Olympic classes, next, we will follow the 470 European Championships in Italys San Remo. Following this event, we will leave behind the sea and move inland to experience sailing on a lake. The mesmerising Lake Maggiore in Switzerland hosted the second edition of the EUROSAF Club Sailing European Championships and we decided to stop by and capture all the action. Finally, we visit Weihai, China to follow the 2019 Hobie 16 Asian Championship.
